My Experience

Cheeky Peach Boutique

Assistant Store Manager

During my time as an Assistant Store Manager at Cheeky Peach Boutique, I have developed a well-rounded skill set in both retail operations and creative direction. I manage daily store functions, oversee inventory, and ensure seamless operations, while also training and motivating a team of sales associates to exceed sales goals and deliver exceptional customer service. I play a key role in visual merchandising and styling, curating in-store displays and providing personalized styling experiences for both in-store and online customers. Collaborating closely with the store owner, I attend apparel markets to assist in selecting merchandise that aligns with current trends and customer needs. My contributions also extend to content creation, where I participate in digital styling sessions and social media campaigns to enhance brand engagement and visibility. This role has allowed me to balance creativity with business strategy, solidifying my passion for fashion merchandising, customer experience, and team leadership.

Attending the Atlanta Apparel Market with the store owner, Katie Jacobs, has provided me with an insightful experience in retail planning and buying. I assisted in selecting a well-curated product assortment that aligned with our store’s brand identity and customer preferences. From analyzing fabric quality and color palettes to discussing pricing and exclusivity with vendors, I played a key role in ensuring our selections balanced style, profitability, and market demand. This opportunity not only strengthened my understanding of the buying process but also reinforced the importance of strategic selection in driving retail success.

Digital styling has become a key part of how we connect with our customers, whether through Instagram or Facebook direct messaging. As a digital stylist, I curate personalized collections for each customer based on their preferences and needs, sending them videos where I describe the items in detail, show how they fit, or even try them on myself. This allows customers to experience the products virtually and make informed decisions from the comfort of their own home. Additionally, I showcase try-ons and styling tips through our Instagram and Facebook Stories, giving followers a closer look at how different pieces can be styled together. Digital styling creates a more interactive, personalized shopping experience, helping us build stronger relationships with our customers while driving sales.

Alpha Gamma Delta

Vice President of Marketing

As the Vice President of Marketing for my sorority, I led a team in crafting and maintaining a cohesive brand image across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. I drove the rebranding process by designing a new logo, brand kit, and custom presets, which helped establish a unified, modern identity. I also redesigned the chapter's website on Squarespace, improving its user experience while aligning it with our refreshed branding. I guided the Director of Social Media on content strategy, ensuring all posts were consistent and engaging. I worked closely with the Director of Merchandising to collaborate with vendors on designing and sourcing exclusive chapter merchandise. To further elevate our online presence, I shot and edited videos using tools like CapCut, TikTok, and Instagram Reels. These efforts resulted in 750,000 impressions and a 30% increase in post engagement. Through strategic planning, leadership, and collaboration, I played a key role in strengthening our sorority’s marketing initiatives and enhancing our overall digital presence.

Couture a la Cart

Merchandising Manager

Couture a la Cart is a semester-long initiative led by Fashion Merchandising Majors in UGA’s Retail Entrepreneurship course. This collaborative project involves designing a mobile pop-up shop curating a product assortment with local vendors, and managing merchandising and sales. Each student is assigned a role, simulating a professional work experience and contributing to the project’s overall success. As Merchandising Manager, I led a team of Visual and Product Merchandisers, ensuring collaboration and organizational excellence. I worked closely with the Planning Director to develop pricing strategies and track weekly sales performance, while also partnering with the Accountant to manage the Merchandising budget efficiently. My responsibilities included overseeing product tagging, enforcing merchandising SOPs during selling days, and collaborating with the Marketing team to maintain a consistent, visually appealing aesthetic across all products and promotions. Additionally, I provided creative guidance to the team, supported inventory management, and made data-driven recommendations to improve product performance—all while ensuring alignment with the Couture a la Cart brand identity.

Coming Up With a Theme: “Air Couture”

At the very beginning of the semester, we were tasked with developing an overarching theme that would guide our marketing, merchandising, and buying efforts for the selling season. After much deliberation, we landed on "Air Couture," a theme that perfectly aligned with the concept of our pop-up shop traveling across campus.

Transforming “Air Couture” Into a Tangible Shopping Experience

Transforming the theme of "Air Couture" into a tangible shopping experience involved a collaborative effort where we brainstormed various ways to bring the concept of air travel and stylish, everyday fashion to life. Every element worked in harmony to immerse shoppers in the spirit of adventure, elevating the cart into a destination of its own. We designed boarding passes that were stapled to receipts, offering customers a fun, interactive keepsake. The ambiance was enhanced with vintage airline photos, suitcases, a globe, and cloud-patterned wallpaper, creating a nostalgic travel atmosphere. We decorated a mirror with travel stickers and hand-painted shopping bags with airplane designs, adding a personal and creative touch to each purchase. Our product assortment was carefully selected to reflect versatile, on-the-go fashion, with items thoughtfully placed. Branded stickers were given out with each purchase, reinforcing the theme. These details came together to create a cohesive, engaging environment, making the "Air Couture" theme an unforgettable shopping experience for our customers.
